![]() I'd give it another shot if I could see a happy route to success. Interested if anyone out there has had better experiences with multiple boxes and multiple remotes. The integration to other lights already installed and operating was the only bright spot. I'd be taking care with your expectations if you shelling out on this. And how you'd get on with older TV's and attached boxes I have no idea. But anything above that then very frustrating. I think if you have one input device and the simplest of set ups, you might be ok. Best they could summon up to offer was a link to Hue Sync FAQ's. But there's nothing in the (very limited) setup instructions, Youtube or from Philips themselves. I still feel as though I've got something badly wrong and not understanding something key. I'd even bought wall mounting brackets in anticipation of it working a treat but what a disappointment. Surely it should work like one of these clever remotes and just suck the entire keyset function down? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.Īnd as for having to program each remote key function? I'm more than a bit OCD but life is just too short. "In regards to the Built-in App (e.g Amazon Prime, YouTube etc), this will never reproduce any light activity due to these App being built-in on the TV, so no signal passes through the box as it's coming from inside the TV already, therefore, no light can act on that signal."Īlso switching between each of the input boxes (each the latest and most up to date FS & FV boxes) is just too inconsistent. Even with an eArc output to a Sonos Amp, they say that will not work. It turns out that all your 'on-board smart TV' functions will not work with the Sync. Fortunately Amazon's is better and they have accepted the return of the box and strip. And frankly support from Philips/Signify is worthless. It really is too much of a handful to set up. Well it's end of the road with the Hue Sync. Running version 1.8.3 firmware according to the app. If I connect the Roku directly to the TV, it works fine. Lastly, I connected an older Roku 1080p streaming device to the hue sync box and it also doesn't work. Also, the Shield works perfectly when connected directly to the TV (Vizio M series). I also swapped out the HDMI cables with a new set of high speed cable matters 8k cables with no luck. I can also start syncing via the app and the lights dim, but unfortunately since the hue sync box states no HDMI signal, there's no way to do anything with it. Odd thing is that the hue sync box recognizes when I turn on the Shield because it sends a command to turn on the tv. I then performed a factory reset and it still doesn't recognize the Shield on any HDMI input. I tried all the other ports with no luck. I only have an Nvidia Shield connected to HDMI 1. All of a sudden it doesn't recognize any HDMI input. I have a hue sync box and it's been working great for over a year. Should say, I've got a load of Hue products and in the main we get on well with the system though we are not doing anything too challenging with it. Would be great get some input from those who have mastered this product. I'm sure there's something I'm just not seeing here. The setup instructions are very vague and limited and strangely there are not so many setup videos (that I can find) on Youtube. video and sound work fine but no activity light wise. And output from the onboard TV apps the same. ![]() But I can't even get the Hue box to swap between the two boxes. Obviously there is a remote for each box and I've not programmed each of the buttons up yet. I can get the Freesat box to make the strip light flash & dance about, but nothing else. Have a Panasonic EX800B with 3 HDMI's, Freesat 4K on HDMI 1, Freeview Aura on HDMI 3 and Sonos Amp connected to HDMI2 with eARC. Anyone had any success setting the Hue Sync up with multiple HDMI boxes? I'm getting nowhere here.
